The Bourne Education Foundation is actively building a team of volunteers that will enable us to sustain growth for the long term. To be successful we need a wide variety of people who can join our committees and provide guidance and professional expertise. There are many ways, big and small, you can help us. Every June we also seek new Board Members and Officers to join us. It is our hope that Board members can attend our monthly meetings and any other meetings their chosen committees may hold. Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings and serve on our committees without being on the Board of Directors.
We are currently seeking volunteers for the following committees:
Governance. The Governance Committee shall have the responsibilities of cultivating and nominating potential directors. The committee shall provide guidance and suggestions for new board members and shall also periodically review the bylaws to be sure they are current.
Finance. The Finance Committee shall oversee the development of the annual budget, including expenditures, cash flow and reserve funds. The Finance Committee, working in conjunction with the Treasurer of the Corporation, will ensure the tax filings of the Corporation are done in a timely manner and report such filings to the board.
Fundraising. The Fundraising Committee shall oversee the raising of funds and in-kind donations to the foundation.
Grants and Distributions. The Grants and Distributions Committee shall be responsible for attracting grant applications, publish request for proposals and distribute the proposals to the full committee to read, assess, recommend and evaluate. For all grant applications received, it shall make recommendations to the Board, upon which the Board shall vote final recommendations.
